Burton Mystery Series — Woodward Park City Stop Recap

  |   SLUSH STAFF

The 4th US stop of the Mystery Series Tour made its way to Utah over the weekend.  On a normal year, at this point of the winter you could expect slushy season to be in full swing at Woodward Park City.  Not this winter.  There’s been one consistent condition all season - Snow.  This proved to be the case throughout the day, leaving the competitors who braved I-80 to deal with an actual mystery.  Will the lifts be able to spin during the blizzard?

The weather couldn’t stop the riders though.  Everyone showed up in full force.  The Chill Foundation had a squad that was ready to ride in any condition.  Riders of all ages, sizes, and abilities wanted to battle it out on the race course.  When the wind finally chilled out, the course was set in classic fashion.  A couple people made some turns down the one groomed run - and this dictated where the gates would go.  Kinda just goes to show, that even a simple slalom race will give you a good time.

The sun even popped out for a rare appearance for a bit.  Rob Roethler and Brolin Mawejje were there from the Burton team, and battled it out on the course taking their runs switch.

While this stop was quick due to the weather, good times were still plenty.  Major thanks to the crew at Woodies for braving the elements and making sure everyone was having an awesome day.  We’ll see you at the final stop next month in New Jersey.  We’re hoping that the weather will be much more predictable inside the dome.
