Dakine was founded with purpose in 1979 to fill a need for the local Hawaiian surf community, every day since its founding, Dakine’s progression has come from purpose-built product. In the eighties there was a need for an essentials-only snowboarding backpack, so we made the first heli pack. Now over thirty years later this tradition has continued.
