Danny Davis has become a freeride reference point, while still very much in the middle of doing the thing. Usually those kinds of pedestals are reserved for riders whose best chapters live in the past, but Danny just realized some of his best footage to date.
This new part pulls from Burton’s Paved along with a handful of clips we haven’t seen yet, and it quietly reinforces why that status feels earned. I was recently talking with Terje about the state of backcountry snowboarding, and he made a point that stuck. Too much of what gets labeled “backcountry” these days is just a slopestyle jump with a powder landing and a sled parked nearby. The real essence, he said, is riding lines with intention, with precision and speed.
That’s Danny Davis to a tee. No smoke, (well, maybe SOME smoke) no mirrors, no forced moments. Just control, flow, and a deep understanding of terrain. The guy is genuinely impressive and worth all the hype. Watch the part.
