There's a lot going on in this photo. The building looks kind of Greek, the trees are like something from a Dr. Seuss book, and the snow-covered statue is simultaneously serene and ominous. I'd originally thought this would look better in black and white because of all the nice concrete shapes, but as soon as I saw Reid's fluorescent beanie and the shadows the flashes were throwing, I knew it had to be in color. The crew had set the spot up the previous evening, and I barely had time to get my gear set up before he was hopping onto it. Less than ten tries later, he was riding away. Bug up to the VG crew for letting me tag along that morning and to Slush for putting this shot on the front of the mag!
