Game Breakdown

Garrett Mckenzie and Austin Visintainer were the finalists in the 2023 Game Of S.N.O.W. We could set this as a testament to growing up on rope tows.  Garrett, usually seen at Trollhaugen and Austin, from the low key rope of Mission Ride in Washington. It was no question that they each brought crazy bags of technical tricks.  They both had two brackets Ws under their belt, but none of the wins came easy. Endurance would surely come into play going into this match (or so we thought). Austin, knowing some of Garrett’s down rail moves by now, took to the kink.  Garrett failed to answer Austin's gap front board to fakie and bs lipslide through the kink, giving Austin a two letter advantage. But with a proper bs 360 gap and a 180 switch nose press, the two were tied. It was back and forth for ages. During finals, the riders are given two tries on the last letter. This allowed Garrett to stay in the game after landing a hard 270 and Austin landing a BS 360 tail press on both of their 2nd tries. The crowd barely had a chance to stop erupting before the next crazy trick was thrown. Garrett had to bust out the big guns on the down rail with a BS 450 to fs bs to fakie. Austin gave it everything he had, and probably would have matched it had the rail been longer, but he just kept overshooting. It was the way you wanted this match to go. A close match, but Garrett Mckenzie ended up on top as this year's 2023 Game of S.N.O.W. Champion.
